Peggy Reubens, LCSW, is a feminist psychotherapist who
is currently in private practice in New York City. She has been
a social worker and an adjunct professor at Fordham University
Graduate School of Social Work.
I specalize in treating trauma survivors, with years of working
with domestic violence - - private clients as well as clinical
consultation to a shelter and other agencies.
I have given many workshops on the problem; one turned into
an article published by the Renfrew Foundation for Women's Mental
Health. It is posted here under Professional
resources.
The inspiration for this site were the many questions and
misunderstandings that came to me from clients involved in domestic
violence situations, and from other colleagues trying to help
them. There are many excellent websites (as well as books) available
now but I'm not sure these particular concerns are sufficiently
addressed in those places.
